Mar. 12th, 2011 05:38 pmIt was supposed to be easy, with just the Captain and Commander to pick up an item or some sort that Starfleet needed. Some sort of capsule that had been left years ago that contained information that the higher ups needed. So the Enterprise had been ordered for the job since it was the closest ship to the planet.
But this is not how the away mission was supposed to go. It was supposed to be quick. The capsule had been deep in the confines of a cavern. So the officers had gone in together, phasers at the ready just in case. What they hadn't been ready for was the planet's unstable fault and an ion storm causing a disruption in the planet. Said disruption had to be a earthquake, of course, causing the floor to drop out underneath them to a lower section of the cavern. The good news was that they had found the capsule at least.
But Spock wasn't in the best...sort of mood, so to speak. Before he had left the ship, hours before, he had been what could've been called agitated - if Vulcans felt. But it was obvious something was up because he was scolding his department harsher than before, taking time to go meditate during shift, eyes darkened and lips almost in a scowl.
And now as he sat there in the dim lighting - thankfully his tricorder provided some light to see by there in the cavern - he sat in his meditation pose, but not meditating. He was staring at the wall, as though it would give him to the answers to the universe. Or at least a way out of this.
(I just made up a verse! Name to give it a tag so I could find it faster later. We can discuss the verse name later if you'd like. c: )
